Unable to obtain settings for Remote Agent Publishing from the registry” occurs after launching the Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility and clicking on the Publishing Tab

Grant Full Control Permissions for the Administrators, System Account and Backup Operators Group to the following registry key on the remote machine.

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows
Launch the Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility and click on the Publishing Tab.  If the same error appears, uninstall the Remote Agent, reboot, and reinstall the latest or same version of the remote agent that is installed on the media server.

Determine the name of your Outlook profile

You can use the following steps to determine the name of your Outlook profile.

Windows XP

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Switch to Classic View.
  • Double-click Mail.
  • Click Show Profiles.
  • Note the name of your Outlook profile on the General tab.

If you see more than one profile on the General tab, the default profile is listed in the drop-down control under When starting Microsoft Office Outlook, use this profile.
Click OK to close the Mail control panel.

Windows Vista, Windows 7

  • Open Control Panel.
  • In the Search Control Panel box, type Mail.
  • Click Mail.
  • Click Show Profiles
  • Note the name of your Outlook profile on the General tab

If you see more than one profile on the General tab, the default profile is listed in the drop-down control under When starting Microsoft Office Outlook, use this profile.
Click OK to close the Mail control panel.


Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window

This problem can occur when file that maintains the Navigation Pane settings becomes corrupted. This file is called profilename.xml, where profilename is the name of your Outlook profile. This file is stored in the following folder:

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Windows Vista, Windows 7

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Exchange Server Disable Read Receipts Replies exiting our Organization

For remote domains (Organization Configuration – Hub Transport) there are options for blocking delivery reports and non-delivery reports to remote domains.

The option for blocking delivery reports does ONLY affect read receipts.There’s also no option for disabling relay notifications “Delivery to these recipients or distribution lists is complete, but delivery notification was not sent by the destination:” (*)

However, these settings are only for remote domains. And there’s no option to disable delivery receipts and read receipts originating from the internet or sent internally.

Mac Outlook 2011 Disable Read Receipts

In Outlook Mac 2011 there is no way to control the behaviour of read receipts from the client. Supposedly read receipts can be managed at the server level by logging into OWA and selection your preferred option. Normally from OWA>options>messaging>tracking.
